Lindy Hop with Sean and Laura

Join Sean Vitale and Laura Evans for a Lindy Hop workshop on Sunday, June 28th! Topics Coming Soon!

Sean Vitale

Sean Vitale is a dynamic dancer with a love for jazz music and movement. Sean has been lindy hopping since 2018 and is grateful to be a part of the cast of the acclaimed Lindy stage show, Sw!ng Out. Sean is a prominent member of the NYC-based dance troupe, The Harvest Moon Hoppers. Sean is also a past member of Frankie Manning’s legacy troupe, The Big Apple Lindy Hoppers. As a partnered dance specialist, Sean excels at improvisation and has won many partnered improvisation (luck of the draw) competitions throughout the U.S. and Europe. Beyond his work as a dancer and educator, Sean is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, board-certified in the treatment of people affected by neurologic conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, MS, stroke, and spinal cord injury.

Laura Evans

The spark started at nine years old, when Laura’s stepmother turned on In the Mood and taught her the first step-step-rock-step of East Coast Swing. It grew into a flicker when her college boyfriend introduced her to the magic (and chaos) of an evening dance at Camp Hollywood. Upon finishing college, Laura took a chance on some new friends and joined a little group of Socal dancers headed to Phoenix Lindy Exchange, her first traveling dance weekend, and that flicker erupted into a bonfire. Lindygroove in Southern California became Laura’s dance home, and she considers it a huge honor to now be a teacher at the place that built her up. Laura has won or placed in competitions at Camp Hollywood, Snowball, Camp Jitterbug, STL Getdown, Lindy on the Rocks, and Inspiration Weekend, she has taught workshops along the west coast, and she has performed on various teams in Southern California.

By day, Laura is a professional classical violinist and music teacher, and her passion for music has shaped her relationship to the dance. She loves creatively expressing the music, interacting playfully with her partner, and instigating little moments of respectful chaos. While competing and performing are certainly fun, social dancing is what keeps her fire burning (especially those sweet, sweet unhinged late night dances). Laura strives to inspire her students to find their own joy in moving to music, connecting with partners of all levels and backgrounds, taking risks, and having fun while practicing hard to become excellent at this beautiful art.
