The most common dance styles you’ll see on the floor here are Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag and Solo Jazz. We Celebrate the Black American history of swing and Jazz and firmly believe learning about the context of these art forms is an integral part of participating in them.

No Partner needed. Beginners are welcome. It’s always okay to come and hang out. Dance one dance, dance thirty dances, sit and watch the whole night, we’re just glad you’re here.

Bring some flats/comfortable shoes to move in. These are athletic dances. If you sweat a lot consider bringing extra shirts. Other things to consider bringing: A water bottle, mints, towel.

This event is donation based. Think of it as a sliding scale from $0 to $15. This model only works because of the generosity of the venue. Classes will be $15 per class and will start up in September.

It’s a space dedicated to gathering, connecting, expressing and embodying joy. We promise you won’t have to drink moon water. But seriously, there’s some really cool stuff happening at Sanctuary. Everything from Yoga and Sound Baths, to Tap Dancing and Clothing Swaps. Check out their website below.
